The Catastrophe of the Japanese Earthwake

In the Language througth Literature class we made an Historical Narrative with a catastrophe ,I choose  the Japanese Earthwake, then we have to answer some questions about it and we have to create a"interview" with someone that was there and finally make a short text including all the questions.

What happened?

A magnitude 8.9 earthwake devastated Japan, leaving thousands  of people, most part of the city was destroyed.

Where?

Tohoku, Japan.

When?

In 2011, March 11 th.

Who were involved?

The victims in Tohoku

Why?

Because the Phenomenom of induced seismicity occurs  with a temporal coincidence between the first mentioned filling and the generation of the first earthwake.

Interview:

1- How do you feel now about that memory in your mind?

I am very scared, because I have many nightmares about that moment and it was difficult for me to loose my parents.

2- How was your experience there?

It was horrible ,very horrible. I was very scared, thank god my husband and my sons and daughter are safe.

3-How could you save your self from that catastrophe?

I am a scientist, so I knew that something was coming, so I decided to travel here to New York, but my parents didin´t want to leave their houses behind and they stayed there.

With a magnitude of 8.9 this earthwake, devastated Japan leaving thousends of dead. Most part of the city was destroyed. This was in the city of Tohoku in 2011 March 11 st.

The Origin Of The Sea : Questions and Answers

In the Writing class we had to read other group myth´s and answer their question . This is the myth:

In the ancient times there were 2 persons in love, Heelal and Kaya. They have a secret love, because of their families fight. 
The fight start many years ago when the God's father, Eros and the Goddess father, Yave, were best Friends, they were happy working together defend their country. They have to fight for his country many times but in one of those fights Yavhe was shot by an arrow and Eros, the God's father, was watching that moment but he got so scared that he got away from there, he don’t help him and so he keeps fighting. From that moment they start to hate each other. 
Heelal and Kaya were planning to got married in secret because their families fight, so they were afraid that their wouldn't agree with the wedding, they were planning to do the wedding in the Earth, the world of the mortals, so that the family wouldn't notice. The day of the wedding, Heelal and Kaya were so happy that they were going to get married, but they saw their family coming to the Earth. The family of the God get to the Earth and cancel the wedding. The family of the goddess get to the Earth, pick up her daughter and said that they were going to move far away so they couldn't see again. 
The Heelal was so angry and furious because the Kaya family didn´t accepted that the Heelal and the Kaya will married. So he started to searching for her, he was some years searching for her. He felt lonely and sad. Then he still feeling alone so he started crying like anyone else and with so much anger. So he started to go country by country seeing for her love. He went all around the world seeing for Kaya. He was very disappointed because he didn´t find Kaya. He took off all his anger crying everyday and every week, he cried both that he made the sea.

This are the questions and their answers:

1_ What they were planning to do in secret? 
2_ How does the Heelal feel when Kaya go away?
3_ What their fathers think about the marriage?

1- To got married in secret

3-They don´t want their sons to see each other

Síndrome Urémico Hemolítico (SUH)

Después de lo que paso en el Colegio Irlandés llegamos a la conclusión de que la enfermedad que apareció ahí se llamaba Síndrome Urémico Hemolítico (SUH), entonces decidí saber que es, como se transmite, cuales son los síntomas y como se puede prevenir, les recomiendo que lo tomen en cuenta:

¿Qué es?

El síndrome urémico hemolítico (SUH) es una enfermedad causada por una bacteria productora de una toxina, que suele estar presente en los alimentos y en el agua. Tanto en niños como en adultos, esta es una enfermedad grave que trae muchas complicaciones y puede producir la muerte.

¿Cómo se transmite?

Las personas pueden contraer esta bacteria de alimentos contaminados, como carne picada de vaca y aves sin cocción completa como las hamburguesas, salame, arrollados de carne, leche sin pasteurizar, productos lácteos elaborados a partir de leche sin pasteurizar, aguas contaminadas, lechuga, repollo y otros vegetales que se consumen crudos. También se puede producir el contagio de persona a persona por prácticas higiénicas inadecuadas. Otra vía de contagio es a través de aguas de recreación.

¿Cuáles son los síntomas?

El SUH puede presentarse a través de síntomas como diarrea, dolores abdominales, vómitos y otros más severos como diarrea sanguinolenta y deficiencias renales. La complicación de la enfermedad afecta particularmente a niños, ancianos y aquellos que, por padecer otras enfermedades, tienen su sistema inmunológico deprimido. En algunos casos, puede provocar la muerte.

¿Cómo puede prevenirse?

• Higiene durante el faenamiento del ganado;

• Aplicación de controles en los puntos críticos de la elaboración de alimentos;

• Lavado cuidadoso de frutas y verduras;

• Cocción de los alimentos a temperaturas que aseguren la destrucción de la bacteria;

• Evitar la contaminación cruzada en la elaboración de las comidas;

• Higiene personal;

• Evitar el hacinamiento en comunidades cerradas (jardines maternales, jardines de infantes, cárceles, etc.);

• No concurrencia a comunidades cerradas de personas con diagnóstico bacteriológico positivo;

• Evitar el uso de antimicrobianos y antidiarreicos, considerados factores de riesgo en la evolución de diarrea a SUH.

Para terminar el año con Ciencias Naturales decidimos hacer una presentación de a dos con todo lo que hicimos en el año en vez de hacer una prueba escrita, bueno y aquí se las dejo espero también ustedes lo tomen en cuenta para que tambien hagan esto en vez de hacer una prueba escrita como tradicionalmente se hace...

The Origin of the Ocean

In a city called Tebas. Tebas was a city very dry and don’t had animals a crowd of people,tebas  people are adults, children and  grandparents that were the people who would die first  and all the people very angry because don´t had nothing to drink and eat ,the people were desperate because they had nothing to drink and eat, people were dying of hunger or thirst, Then all the people together in one place to discuss what happened that had nothing to drink and eat then we went to ask God what they could do something

The crowd very angry went to a temple of God. But to do that they had to walk a lot of kilometres.When they arrived the first thing that they did was to rest until the temple was opened. When it was opened they ran to the statue. They asked something to drink and ate because lots of people were dying thirsty. God didn't answer until they were living. He called them and said that he accepted that but it has a condition that was that they had to made more temples to him because he wanted to be more value in all the city. The people thought but at the end they accepted. Then of that God transformed a ordinary human in a Water God. Then he explained what he have done. When he finished he trained Poseidon, the Water God,. A month later Poseidon created water.

Finally, after the ordinary man transformation through Poseidon, the people distracted by

happiness of having water and food, forgot to build the temples which was God condition. Only one of them remember that condition, Poseidon himself, so worried he shouted…

-"This can't be happening. STOP, STOP, STOP drinking please!!!-"

God, got to know that the Temples weren't build so he decided to punish all the people turning the water salad, people got sick and dry and many of them die. Later on ,Poseidon decided to put Ocean to that kind of water and no one else drunk there since that day.

Una Oportunidad Increíble

  Todos los alumnos de 1ero del Colegio Newlands tuvimos la increíble oportunidad se hacer un hangout con un papá y pediatra de una de las alumnas, José Vega. A José le ofrecieron viajar a Mongomo, Guinea Ecuatorial, África en un policlínico privado llamado Policlinico Virgen de Guadalupe  por todo un año con vacaciones en diciembre para pasar tiempo con su familia. Él presupuesto no rechazo esta oportunidad increíble. Decidimos en el hangout hacer unas cuantas preguntas como por ejemplo;

• ¿Cuál es la enfermedad más frecuente que se encuentra en el policlínico? Su respuesta fue consecuencias de choques en diferentes vehículos. 
• ¿Cuál fue el caso más extraño que se encontró en el policlinico? Su respuesta fue un tumor cerebral en una niña de unos 8 años.

Entre otras.

Pero nuestro principal objetivo para preguntarle era sobre la reciente enfermedad el Ébola; si alguna vez tubo casos, etc. Pero por suerte nos contó que el  nunca tubo casos porque en la parte en la que él esta situado la enfermedad no llego, pero tienen prevenciones.

Nos encantó poder tener esta oportunidad de poder hablar con José y se lo agradecemos.

Ébola: ¿Que es? ¿Que se debe tener en cuenta para protegerse?

En esta entrada voy a explicarles que es el Ébola y que debe tener en cuenta para poder  protegerse usted y proteger a su familia y a su comunidad de la enfermedad por el virus del Ébola.

El Ébola es una enfermedad  infecciosa viral aguda que produce fiebre hemorrágica en humanos y primates (monos, gorilas y chimpancé), causada por el virus del Ébola, que se describió por primera vez en el año 1976 por el Dr. David Finkes, cuando se presentaron varios casos de fiebre hemorrágica en Zaire y Sudán. El nombre del virus se debe al río Ébola, geográficamente ubicado en Zaire.

Los primates pueden transmitir el virus del Ébola

Para prevenir el Ébola hay cosas que usted debe saber:

1-El ebola da fiebre alta repentinamente, debilidad extrema, dolores de cabeza y de cuerpo, y pérdida del apetito.

2-Si usted piensa que pudo estar expuesto al ebola, minimice el contacto con los demás.

3-El ebola entra al organismo a través de la boca, nariz y ojos, o una lesión en la piel.

4-Lave sus manos con agua y jabón después de cada contacto con personas enfermas de ebola.

5-Usted NO puede transmitir el ebola hasta que no presente síntomas: fiebre alta repentina, debilidad extrema.

6-Dele a un paciente de ebola mucho líquido: agua, sopa, té. No alcohol.

7-Usted NO puede contagiarse de ebola al hablar con la gente, caminar en la calle o comprar en el mercado.

8- Los pacientes con ebola deben tomar agua y litros de solución de rehidratación oral diariamente*

Si usted no cuenta con solución de rehidratación oral en casa, puede prepararla usted mismo. Agregue 6 cucharaditas de azúcar y media de sal a un litro de agua potable.

9-NO dé aspirina o ibuprofeno a pacientes con ebola, pues puede agravar el sangrado.

10-¿Recuperado de ebola? Usted puede ayudar a su comunidad a cuidar de otros que estén enfermos. Con protección.

11-Una persona que ha fallecido de ebola es ALTAMENTE contagiosa; no la toque.

12-El cuerpo de una persona fallecida a causa de ebola debe ser atendido por un equipo especializado.

13- El ebola es muy infeccioso aún después de la muerte. Al rendir homenaje póstumo, mantenga un metro de distancia, sin tocar a la persona.

14- No tenga contacto sexual si tiene síntomas de ebola.

15-Después de recuperarse de ebola, las personas deben utilizar condones durante cualquier contacto sexual por lo menos 3 meses.

La Estudiante Insegura

*En la Clase de Lengua leímos un poema llamado "El Mal Estudiante" de Jacques Prévert (1946) y después de leerlo teníamos que escribir un párrafo o poema que cuente que clase de estudiante somos, bueno ,acá les dejo mi párrafo:

"Yo sigo siendo la típica estudiante tímida tanto en la secundaria como en la primaria porque tengo miedo de que si digo la respuesta incorrecta me empiezan a burlar. Es por eso que mejor hago silencio y espero a que alguien más lo diga, soy muy insegura de mi misma en clase"

Jeniffer Parker se Presenta

En la clase de Francés decidimos hacer un comic con un personaje inventado para eso tuvimos que recurrir a la sala de informatica usando el programa Pixton que nos permitio hacer un comic con diferentes tipos de escena ,formas de poner el cuerpo y diferentes burbujas de texto. Sin más preámbulos les presento a mi personaje Jeniffer Parker!

Llegamos a la Guardería Nuestra Sra de Betharram!!!!

La experiencia fue hermosa a los nenes les encanto todo y el tucan que hicimos con papeles de revista, la obra ni hablar les encanto, el baile que mis compañeras hicieron mas porque despues a los chicos los invitamos a bailar!!! Despues el tiempo que sobraba lo usamos para conocer a los chicos y jugar con ellos. Los vamos a extrañar!!!!!!!

Lowood Farm

Here I let you a Fable that I made with my classmates the dark black is the part that I write:

One summer day in a colourful farm all the animals were very happy. You can find all type of animals, like horses, sheep, ducks, pigs, dogs, and chickens. But the most beautiful and loved were Sweety the pig and a yellow duck.

Every morning the farmer came, cleaned the animals, fed them and then he let them free to play and run. Then he picked up the eggs. And finally the visitors started to arrive.

At the beginning the Lowood farm was not very famous but with over the years the people started to spend a lot of time in the farm. They were very polite, they didn't throw anything on the floor but then the things started to change.

All the people started visiting constantly the farm and Rex was not the same,the other animals didn't know what happened with him. Rex now was a bad horse who discriminate the other animals.

-"You are a dirty and silly pig, and your name "Sweety" don't match anything with your ugly face" Rex shouted. "And you have to fix your legs, curved duck"

    All the animals couldn't stand it anymore. They were in constant fear of Rex and of the people that visited the farm. That persons, didn't knowing, make the animals eat things they didn't want or like.

    The farm was very quiet and sad until the farmer came with a new integrant. It was a sheep called Lancy the more intelligent in Lowood City. When the farmer left, Lancy started talking with the other animals and she realized that they were very sad because of Rex.

"Where is Rex?" she asked

-"Here I am!" he answer

-"What happen to you?"

Rex saw her with a bad face".-" Nothing...is just ,when I was little... all the people that came to ride me, discriminated me because I was very tall and gave me their food"-

"But, why do you do to other animals what you don't like to do it to you?" Lancy asked

"Because.... I want people and animals respect me. You know that my life when I was a child was horrible, but please forgive me.

-"Ok we forgive you, but promise Rex that you will never discriminate us again, do you promise? "Sweety asked"

-"I promise,please forgive me." Rex shout .

All were very happy on the farm and Rex have many new friends...

Obra de Teatro En Construccion de Ciudadania: "Pensar Antes De Tirar"

Estamos Preparando una obra para una guardería de la cual les tratamos de ensenar a a los niños  sobre como reciclar, reducir y reutilizar osea cuidar el planeta. En la obra tenemos a Reciclin del cual el ama reciclar, a Rosita quien piensa que reciclar no es importante y a los hermanos Ambientalin que también les gusta reciclar y a la Mama de Reciclin y ella no sabe reciclar y siempre tira todo a la basura, tambien tenemos a las bailarinas que tertminan la obra.

Realidad Modificada Nuestro Proyecto

Hoy en día mucha basura es tirada como algo que no hace daño o que no sirve, pero afecta mucho al ambiente y a los animales, y al mismo tiempo a los recursos que nosotros necesitamos para vivir como  los arboles o el agua, que muchas veces esta contaminada. La Biodiversidad es una de las cosas que mas esta afectada por esto de la contaminación.Muchos animales acuáticos mueren por la contaminación de el agua o animales aéreos como los tucanes, pueden extinguirse por la tala de arboles.Los seres vivos están muriendo, muchas veces confunden basura con comida, podes evitar esto de forma que separemos la basura y que la basura no vaya al piso.

When I started to belive that the TIME MACHINE works one big hole absorved me an I was shouting as if some one hit me on my  face . A few minutes later I woke up in  a barn that was full of animals , and when I tried to stand up I fell, because I  was feeling myself heavy. I saw a pond with water. I was thirsty, so I drank but when I saw my reflection... I was a horse! Can you belive it? So I started loking for Steve but a man came and put on me the horse chain and he sat down on me, so I started to stummer and the  man recognized  my voice and  he asked if my name was Max and I said yes "sure", so Inmidietly I knew that was Steve because of his voice.
